More free music that I forgot about!

So I cannot believe that I forgot about Viva Radio. It's hosted by American Apparel, so another hipster-y clothing company-fueled radio, but it's fun! It's a nice mix of retro music and some newer indie stuff. I have generally been using it as background music and it might be good for a chill party or something. :) Also nice if you're just browsing the internet or chilling in your room.

I've also been going through BandCamp, which is where the Beat Connection was hosted in my last post. BandCamp is this nifty idea where bands can put up their music and have it available for download (or just streaming) in various formats. One thing I really like about it is the option for bands to select 'name your own price'. So when you download it, you have the option of paying basically whatever you want from a set limit. It's almost like a donation. So if you like the band a lot, you could pay, say, $5 for a song and if you only kind of liked the band or were a cheapass, you could pay the base price of, say, ¢50. It's up to the consumer.
I was going to put all the little bands that I've found through BandCamp, but I think I'm gonna save that for a whole post of its own. That's how cool this website is.

Just a short post, but I had to share it. :) If anyone knows of anywhere else, please let me know! Also: any suggestions?
(FYI: For pictures, I generally collect them as I go and then post a bigger post with 'round ten pictures at once)
I'm also planning on going through DeviantArt and putting some stuff together from my favorite artists, so look forward to that!

free [legal] music

Yeah, it totally exists and I am all over it all the time. And I hope you aren't disappointed to hear that it's mostly indie-type music, made by bands who want to get their name out. And it definitely works. :)

Hit the fancy link below for a little list of places to download free, awesome music.

Mixes

I really really enjoy making mixes. I am still getting used to it, but I think making someone a collection of music is about as intimate as it can get. There is so much thought that goes into making the perfect mix: you need to pick the theme, the mood, the message. Then you pick the songs, the order... and then there's the album art.

Either way, I would really like to be more prolific in my mix-making, and it seems like 8-tracks seems like a good place to start.

Here's one I made a couple minutes ago. It is a bit of a chill-summery mix, but it goes from relaxing to a little more energetic at the end. Let me know what you think.

Beatboxing

I've always been a big fan of beatboxing. I would never ever try to do it myself though. I would fail so hard. So here are some other actually talented people.

What I find really impressive most of the time is when the beatboxers go beyond just making beat-noises and actually make

These guys are CRAZY. The trumpet sound that the Australian guy on the right makes is REALLY impressive.

Scampi

I stumbled upon Scampi (aka chipswow) on YouTube a while ago and I love almost everything about her. She is French, she plays ukelele, she has a beautiful voice, she seems really nice. What more is there?
